Ladies Make It Three on the Bounce

Shelford Ladies 87 - 0 Stoneygate

On yet another cold and blustery day Shelford set out to see if they could get a third win in a row. Following harsh words from coach Mighty Mouse Yeoman at the preceding training session, the girls didn’t seem to have turned up for the game.

The game started with the sun shining but the girls hands weren’t up to the game. They finally warmed them up leading to Lizell running in her first try of 2012. Ten minutes later Snowdon scored the second try of the game, buoying the ladies spirits, which worked its magic with the “Chic One” scoring in a mêlée of people. Three minutes later Catherine followed up with her first ever try for Shelford, which was swiftly converted by Lizell. Another three minutes later Charlie chalked up her first try of 2012, again converted by Lizell. Three minutes seemed to be the game plan with Nicola running in her first try for Shelford, playing on the wing, this being a new position for her which seemed a winning combination. Foodie then ranin her first try of the game which was converted by Lizell right before half time. Score at half time 41-0.

Following half time and all of Shelford subs being put on the field, Jen scored a try a minute into the second half. Five minutes later Lizell ran in her second try of the day and also converted it. Concerned about her bet with Lizell, Foodie promptly scored her second try, again converted by Lizell. Nicola scored her second try followed by the “Chic One” also getting her second try of the game.

Foodie racked up a hat trick with 5 minutes left of the game, followed by Big Bird scoring her first try since returning after having kids, who were on hand to watch her score. Lizell promptly converted and Big Bird obviously having a taste of scoring managed her second try of the game. Full time score 87-0
