After a cracking 13-12 win against the Royal Engineers in a bruising encouter at Davey field the team are looking forward to another league game with great relish. Wednesday night was a tough fixture which was thoroughly enjoyed by the squad and those who braved the conditions to watch. Despite the conditions the Development squad played some good rugby and were tested to their limits by a strong Sappers team that boasted a couple of players who have represnted the Army. We hope to play the fixture again next season and look forward to welcoming the Waterbeach based team back next year.
Saturday sees the Development Squad travel to Henley to take on the league leaders in a top of the table clash. With Henley having lost to Chinnor last weekend the door is ajar for the Development Squad to move closer to top spot. With the 1s calling on a number of players the strength and depth of the squad has told this weekend and opportunities are presented for some players to stake a claim for a place. Training has been positive and we will be very keen to get a result and keep the momentum up in the second half of the season.
