Two great sports unite for youngsters in Cambridge Happidojo Judo Club and Total Sports Plus Rugby have joined forces to deliver exciting new sports camps for Cambridgeshire youngsters in 2010 A dynamic combination of sporting activities is planned for every school break throughout the year thanks to teamwork between two of the area’s most successful sports camp providers. The fun and actively educational camps will be led by Dave Southby, former Commonwealth Judo Gold Medallist and founder of Happidojo, in partnership with Tom Dann, Shelford Rugby Club 1st XV Player/Coach of Total Sports Plus. The next sports camp for 2010 will be: April 13/14/15th There’s something for everyone under the guidance of friendly, first-class coaches who will provide a packed programme of outdoor and indoor sporting activities. The camps will also include the latest initiatives from SAQ Training, a programme of progressive exercise and instruction aimed at developing fundamental motor abilities, balance, co-ordination and body movement control. Dave Soutby explains: “Judo and rugby make powerful partners, these sports go hand in hand and it’s important for youngsters to experience as many sporting activities in order to maximise their health, fitness and performance potential. The fundamental SAQ (speed, agility, quickness) skills alone are excellent, this is a new concept sweeping the country, and aims to a firm foundation for any sport.” “I am delighted that Shelford has come together with first team players and Happidojo Judo to provide a great sports camp that benefits all the players, the club and the community.” said Tom Dann.
