Captain's Preview - Saturday 8th September

The summer (ahem?!?) has flown by and the rugby season is upon us once more. Saturday, we host and welcome Basingstoke to the Davey Field, who were moved from South West One to London One at the end of last season. Basingstoke are therefore one of 5 unknown entities in a league of only 12 teams. This element of mystery will definitely add to the excitement of the opening fixtures. After several close-season signings and weeks of pre-season training, the first team squad is in good physical shape and together are raring to launch into competitive rugby. The coaches and team have set out our short-term and long-term individual and collective objectives and a strong cohesion within the squad is evident. We have prepared well for the 2007 / 2008 season, both mentally and physically, and are looking forward to an impressive performance today and most importantly, a "WIN!" Thank you all for your support and here's looking forward to an enjoyable and successful campaign together.
