 The first home fixture of the season sees the Shelford Boys entertain Portsmouth RFC. The 2 sides had contrasting fortunes in the first game of the season, with Shelford beating Haywards Heath away from home and Portsmouth losing at home to Barnes. Shelford will look to continue their winning ways, whilst correcting some of the wrongs of last week. Improving discipline and introducing more dynamic defence are high on our agenda.
Last season saw Shelford win both fixtures against Portsmouth, but this cannot allow us to be complacent. Portsmouth will be looking to turn us over at the Davey Field as they did at the end of the 2006/2007 season.
