Preview 

The development squad were put through their paces by Reesy on Tuesday night and we hope it pays off on Saturday against Worthing.

The squad has been thinned to 20 players for this away trip and looks very strong across the board with an excellent mix of experience and youth, as the development squad should be. There is a great deal of competition for places and some individuals will have to produce quality performances on Saturday to ensure they keep their place in the squad.

Last season was characterised by excellent team spirit on long away trips (some of which even involved a ferry crossing, all be it the Woolwich ferry) and I hope this spirit will continue on Saturday.  Worthing will be a tough side to beat having spent last season in this league. We need to put a marker down early in the season to prove that we are here to finish at the top of this league and emulate the success of last season. Saturday gives the perfect opportunity to do that, providing we get the basics right, win first phase ball and ruck dynamically.
