If you are new to the club or new to rugby you will need to complete three forms per child - Youth Membership/ Youth Medical and RFU Form - all available by clicking on the links below. Please note, if you are a new player, you can train for 3 weeks to have a try out but must then join and pay the fees due if you wish to continue. If fees aren't paid by 31st October, there will be a late charge of £15.00 We have an all players play policy, as long as the coaching team feel it is safe to do so, Games and training are on Sunday mornings from 10.00-12.00 with food and drinks available from approx 9:30. The bar will normally be open from 12:00. Please talk to your age group coach for details of weekday evening training (normally for U9's and above). MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS - included in your fees are:- 2 hours rugby on Sundays plus weekday evenings where appropriate; half price entry to 1st XV home games (with Membership Card) ; free hot dog for home mini/youth matches; the opportunity to buy International Tickets at cost price; the use of balls. bibs. tags, cones and first aid provision; the effective running of the whole club, including the maintenance and upkeep of pitches, changing rooms, showers and toilets; and RFU Insurance! WEBSITE - please check regularly for details of fixtures, results, social events,the Senior Teams progress, and via this page, membership forms and importantly, RFU Codes of Conduct. (Email will also be used by your Coaching team to keep you up to date on forthcoming games) KITCHEN DUTY - Each age group will be expected to do 2 or 3 duties a season. This involves parents being cooks from 8-10, servers from 9.30-1 and also car park attendants. The Kitchen profits go towards the costs of running the club in lieu of match fees - as well as providing a free hot dog on match days (not training!) KIT - available from the Club Shop, open on Sunday mornings and during 1st XV Home games LOST PROPERTY - A black bin will be in the main hall on Sunday mornings. MEDICAL COVER - Emergency Physio cover is available on Sunday mornings. Your coaching team will contact them if needed or direct you to the Physio's room in the clubhouse) TOURS - Some age groups, normally U10's and up may go on tour - your coaching team will let you know further details wheren appriopriate. Rory & Annaleaza and their ever expanding team of RFU qualified and CRB checked coaches, run the youth section, have taken it from strength to strength. Aided by a group of very supportive parents and friends, Shelford Rugby Club now runs youth teams from U7's to Colts with well over 400 players registered. Janet Rosie who was the first team physio for many years now looks after the ever expanding youth section of the club with help from Andrew Powell and Angela George. Janet and Andrew have completed the intensive Sports Trauma and Management course, this is the course recommended by the RFU and the one that has to be completed to work at Commonwealth and Olympic competitions. All three have completed Sports First Aider courses and are fully Chartered Physiotherapists.We are also very lucky to have the help and support of Colin Hitchcock – GP with a special interest in Sports Injuries and Duncan A& E Consultant at Addenbrookes Hospital.
