A very good away win and one that suggests that we have learnt from the last two disappointing results. We started well enough keeping things tight and holding our own. Defence was good and we did create a few chances keeping the early exchanges to penalties. Ed Stow went off after five minutes meaning a reshuffle in the pack with Jim McGivern coming on in the back row and Dave Archibald moving to hooker. We switched off though near the end of the first half letting them into score leaving the half time score 10 – 6 to them.

At half time the talk was mainly about us and what we were going to do in the second half to stamp our authority on it. We needed to dominate possession and territory and this would convert itself into points if we were patient and to keep our fine discipline with the ref. Thankfully, we put all of this into practice and always had the upper hand with tries from John Clements, Richie Cottam, James Briggs and a Penalty try with James Worthington converting three of them. We only conceded one and kept our mouths shut whilst they continued to berate the ref who on the whole had a very good match. Overall, a very pleasing result.

Certain aspects of the game in recent weeks that has cost us wins we took out of the game and worked much better as a team with much better discipline. We now need to build on this performance as we are still not firing on all cylinders but getting closer.
