Shelford Golf Day
Written by Andrew Baron
Sunday, 25 July 2010

To help raise funds for the general upkeep and repair of the

clubhouse and grounds,  Jim Foreman and Mike Mills have

arranged a Shelford Golf Day. Bob Barnes is generously providing

the golf facilities at Cambridge Lakes, for what should be a fun

filled day, with a curry back at the Clubhouse. All levels of golfing

ability are welcome as I am told even someone as bad as our VP

Liaison Officer can take part and enjoy the experience!

Details are on the flyer which can be opened by clicking HERE .

Please book early with Jim Foreman to avoid disappointment.

Shelford's Under 16 tour was completed in fine style, ending unbeaten after a

bruising encounter with the Ontario Under 16 side, winning 28-19, to leave

Shelford unbeaten on tour. Their first games were at the Rugby Festival at

Twin Elms Park in Ottawa. They won their first game against Eastern

Ontario 50-0 and their second against Fort Hunt 42-0. In their third game,

Shelford won 41-5 against a tough Ontario U15 side and in their latest game,

defeated Quebec U16's 63-0. On Thursday 22nd July, the touring party played

Oshawa Vikings who gave them one of their sternest tests, however, it was

Shelford who emerged victorious, winning 27-12.
